Herzog College President Rabbi Dr. Yehuda Brandes was one of the 13 presidents of Israel’s leading teacher training colleges who met with President Isaac Herzog in May 2023 to discuss how to raise the status of teachers. The Teaching Colleges Forum urged the President to help recruit more young people to enter the teaching profession.
President Herzog said: “I attach great importance to the work of educators, and I have enormous appreciation for colleges of education that do a great job in training the next generation of teachers.” He mentioned that Herzog College is named after his uncle, the diplomat Yaakov Herzog.
